Alkoya Brunson Cast as Jakeem Thunder

One of the most powerful characters in the DC Comics universe is Thunder, the genie trapped in the pink pen sitting on Courtney's desk at the moment. When Jim Gaffigan was cast to voice the character it was implied by Entertainment Weekly that young Mike Dugan might free the all powerful genie. Today we have learned, via Decider.com, that the legacy character of Jakeem Thunder will actually take up the powers of the literal wish fulfilling genie. Fans may remember that Jakeem was mentioned in season one by Mike Dugan but never seen on screen. Now fans will see this recurring character played by Alkoya Brunson. He is described as:

Jakeem is a legacy character like the other members of the JSA, having picked up the Thunderbolt after its original owner Johnny Thunder lost control of the power of the genie. Unlike Johnny, who had to say a special code to release the Thunderbolt, Jakeem was able to harness the power by clicking the pen and uttering the phrase “so cool".

Quoting Stewart:
The "special code ( or magic word) for the original Johnny Thunder of the 40s was Cei-U , pronounced "say you". The first time he said ti was by accident. And that often happened in later Johnny Thunder stories, too.
By the way, here's an "imaginary" DC - Marvel crossover comic book cover in which Johnny teamed up with Dr. Strange:
